கர்த்தர் மோசேயை நோக்கி:

அவர்கள் எனக்கு ஆசாரிய ஊழியம் செய்யும்படி அவர்களைப் பரிசுத்தப்படுத்தும் பொருட்டு, நீ அவர்களுக்குச் செய்யவேண்டியதாவது: ஒரு காளையும் பழுதற்ற இரண்டு ஆட்டுக்கடாக்களையும் தெரிந்துகொள்வாயாக.

எட்டாம் நாளிலே மோசே ஆரோனையும் அவன் குமாரரையும் இஸ்ரவேலின் மூப்பரையும் அழைத்து,

ஈசாயென்னும் அடிமரத்திலிருந்து ஒரு துளிர் தோன்றி, அவன் வேர்களிலிருந்து ஒரு கிளை எழும்பிச் செழிக்கும்.

கர்த்தராகிய தேவனுடைய ஆவியானவர் என்மேல் இருக்கிறார்; சிறுமைப்பட்டவர்களுக்குச் சுவிசேஷத்தை அறிவிக்கக் கர்த்தர் என்னை அபிஷேகம்பண்ணினார்; இருதயம் நொறுங்குண்டவர்களுக்குக் காயங்கட்டுதலையும், சிறைப்பட்டவர்களுக்கு விடுதலையையும், கட்டுண்டவர்களுக்குக் கட்டவிழ்த்தலையும் கூறவும்,

இயேசு ஞானஸ்நானம் பெற்று, ஜலத்திலிருந்து கரையேறினவுடனே, இதோ வானம் அவருக்குத் திறக்கப்பட்டது; தேவ ஆவி புறாவைப்போல இறங்கி, தம்மேல் வருகிறதைக் கண்டார்.

தேவதூதன் அவளுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: பரிசுத்த ஆவி உன்மேல் வரும்; உன்னதமானவருடைய பலம் உன்மேல் நிழலிடும்; ஆதலால் உன்னிடத்தில் பிறக்கும் பரிசுத்தமுள்ளது தேவனுடைய குமாரன் என்னப்படும்.

தேவனால் அனுப்பப்பட்டவர் தேவனுடைய வார்த்தைகளைப் பேசுகிறார், தேவன் அவருக்குத் தமது ஆவியை அளவில்லாமல் கொடுத்திருக்கிறார்.

அதெப்படியெனில், மாம்சத்தினாலே பலவீனமாயிருந்த நியாயப்பிரமாணம் செய்யக்கூடாததை தேவனே செய்யும்படிக்கு, தம்முடைய குமாரனைப் பாவமாம்சத்தின் சாயலாகவும், பாவத்தைப் போக்கும் பலியாகவும் அனுப்பி, மாம்சத்திலே பாவத்தை ஆக்கினைக்குள்ளாகத் தீர்த்தார்.

நாம் புத்திரசுவிகாரத்தையடையும்படி நியாயப்பிரமாணத்திற்குக் கீழ்ப்பட்டவர்களை மீட்டுக்கொள்ளத்தக்கதாக,
